Normaa est un duo "son et images", fruit de la collaboration de deux frères.
Tout a commencé dans les années 90, à Gijòn, une petite ville du nord de l'Espagne. En 1995, Eduardo était "beat maker" au sein de son propre groupe hip-hop, largement influencé par la scène rap Marseillaise et le son typique de la East Coast (New York). On citera entre autres N.A.P, Infamous Mob, Mob Deep ou encore Group Home comme formations inspirantes. Les années suivantes le conduiront à une approche bien plus experimentale de sa musique, cette mutation étant liée en grande partie à sa profession de designer.
Très productif, nombreuses de ses premières réalisations furent éditées sur le net en 2001.
Le temps passant, l'identité sonore de Normaa grandie en se dotant d'un champ musical electronique élargit (Glitch, Dub, Ambient). Les visuels furent élaborés par Raùl et Eduardo, tous deux forts de leur experience dans l'animation digitale et la video, à la fois sur le web et pour la TV.
Leur travaux peuvent être décris comme des périples experimentaux audiovisuels et narratifs, chargés de beats destructurés et fortement imprégnés du roots Dub des 70's, d'activisme visuel désinformatif, tientés de culture arabe et d'atmosphères sombres aux couleurs dramatiques, le tout s'articulant en permanence autour de grooves hip-hop.

Normaa is product of the union of two brothers playing sounds and visuals. The seed started in the ninetees, Placed in Gijón, a little city in the north of Spain . Eduardo started to make beats for his hip hop group in 1995, very influenced by French marseille hip hop and east coast sound from New york . Groups like N.A.P., Infamous mob, mob deep, Group home was a big influence. In the next years he turned to Experimentation , because he was in digital exploration while he worked as digital Designer in local agencies.
In the 2001 he releases his digital experimentations in the net, with a lot of digital Sound. With the time spended, the sound get bigger and meets glitch, Dub, and soundscapes. Visuals are created by Raúl, and Eduardo, Both with a lot of experience in digital video and animation in TV and web. They make audiovisual and narrative experimental travels about the bad engineering of Equal humanity, with a lot of deconstructed beats , and very influenced by roots dub from 70`s. Activism and audiovisual des-information, with bits of arab culture and roots sound, dark atmospheres and dramatic colours, Always in the hip hop beats.
